Ugh, last night’s Oscars were a total shitshow. I swear the lineup of films was so pretentious I almost fell asleep. The big win for Best Male Actor went to Adrien Brody for “The Brutalist,” which is apparently about concrete buildings for three and a half hours. Snoozefest! And let’s not forget that bizarre moment before he got on stage—he spat out his gum and tossed it at his girlfriend. What the hell was that? Then he launches into some five-minute speech that felt like straight-up trolling. I was sitting there, thinking, “Dude, wrap it up already!”
I usually hate it when these so-called “stars” get up there and start preaching. This year, I kinda expected more political ranting, especially since Donald Trump got a second term. But nope. It’s like everyone suddenly lost their nerve. No one wants the billionaires who run Hollywood to yank their shiny trophies away if they say something out of line. Seriously, America feels more like a plutocracy every day, and I’m pissed off that even famous actors seem too scared to speak their minds.
What a damn shame. Movies used to be fun, and now we’re stuck with “art” about concrete, long dull rambling acceptance speeches, and zero speaking up from people who have influence. If this is the future of film, I dont think I will ever go to the cinema again.
What do you think?

I’m fired up for the Oscars this Sunday, but let’s be honest—most of the movies are a complete letdown this year. I still can’t wrap my head around how “The Brutalist,” that boring film on concrete buildings, managed to get so much attention. It’s bland, it’s dull, and it embodies everything unexciting about that movement. After the devastating LA wildfires, I’m pretty sure the ceremony will be quieter than usual. Nobody wants to risk their career by doing something outrageous. Still, part of me hopes someone stirs things up because Hollywood feels stale, especially when cheaper places are stealing productions. I’m still watching, though. Are you? 🤨
