I’m so freaking annoyed. I picked at this stupid spot between my eyes a few months ago, and now I’ve got a raised scar smack in the middle of my forehead. It’s not massive, but it’s right where everyone can bloody see it. It’s shaped weird, too—almost like a wart, but it’s definitely not. Ugh, I can’t stand it!

I’m wondering if this little bastard will eventually flatten out on its own or if I’m stuck looking like a hindu. Does anyone have a clue? I’ve heard some people say apple cider vinegar might help peel off the top layer of skin (sounds hardcore as hell, right?), but is it worth trying? Or will I just burn my forehead off and end up with a bigger problem?

Anyway, I need your thoughts: Do raised scars go away or am I doomed?

chill out—you’ll be fine. My friend had a super gnarly raised scar after she picked at a pimple, and it looked like it was there for life. Then, wham, six months later, it was color-matched to her skin and wasn’t nearly as puffy. Our bodies are pretty amazing at healing if we give ’em a chance.

I’ve been in that same boat, and trust me, I understand how a scar in a super noticeable spot can wreck your confidence. But try not to stress too much—scars often become less noticeable with a bit of patience, a good skincare routine, and maybe some targeted treatments. Good luck!

There are some over-the-counter treatments that you can use to help reduce the appearance of raised scars. Things like silicone gel sheets and certain scar creams might help maintain moisture and encourage collagen to align more evenly, which in turn could help flatten the scar. Another option is a gentle massage around the scar area with a bit of moisturizing lotion—some experts say it can help break down the fibrous tissue underneath.

Apple cider vinegar? could be used for exfoliating the top layer of the skin. If you do go that route, be cautious—dilute it, do a spot test, and watch out for irritation. You don’t want to aggravate the scar or your skin even more.

You could also consider professional help, like chat with a skincare specialist about mild chemical peels, steroid injections, or even laser treatments if it’s really bugging you and not flattening on its own over time. But usually, if it’s not too severe, most people see at least some improvement naturally over the course of many months. Hope this helps... this is what I know from past exp.

It can take anywhere from a few months to a year (or even more) for that scar tissue to ease, so don’t lose heart if it’s only been a few months. Our skin is always healing and remodeling itself, but it’s definitely a slow process.

exact scenario here! Picked a spot, ended up with what looked like a mini mountain on my forehead. It flushed and flattened after about six months, so don’t lose hope. If you find a trick to speed it up, definitely let me know. I’m all about quick fixes, haha.

man, I feel your pain. I had something similar right above my eyebrow a while back, and it bugged me so much! I kept messing with it, which probably made it worse. In my case, it eventually flattened out a bit on its own—took a few months, but it’s not super obvious anymore. I guess the moral of the story: Try to leave it alone (which is easier said than done, I know). I’ve never tried apple cider vinegar on a scar, so can’t vouch for that. But hey, if it’s not hurting or anything, maybe it just needs time.
